The Dr. Ossian H. Sweet Foundation is committed to strengthening communities through historic preservation, education, community engagement, youth development, scholarships, and civic participation. Our programs and initiatives primarily serve individuals and families from low- and moderate-income communities, with an emphasis on expanding access to educational, cultural, and community-based opportunities.
Consistent with the life and legacy of Dr. Ossian H. Sweet, the Foundation believes that opportunity, dignity, and access should be available to all. The Dr. Ossian H. Sweet Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender, gender expression, age, national origin or ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law in the administration of its programs, services, activities, or operations.
Through our work, we seek to preserve an important chapter of American history while using its lessons to educate, empower, and create meaningful opportunities for the communities we serve.
